SEO & Social Sharing controls the text and image that appear when a booking page is found by a search engine or shared in a chat or social platform.
It includes three main fields:
- Meta Title
- Meta Description
- Social Preview Image
These values are used for the browser tab, search result snippet, and link preview cards created by platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Slack, and X.
SEO & Social Sharing is configured separately for each calendar from the Advanced Settings tab.
Why Do You Need It?
- Improve shared booking links: When someone shares your booking URL, the link card can show a clear title, description, and image instead of relying on raw calendar content.
- Make links more clickable: A purpose-written preview can make your booking page look more polished in messages, social posts, and group chats.
- Improve search snippets: The title and description help control how your public booking page appears in search results.
- Keep the message intentional: You can write copy specifically for search and social sharing instead of depending on internal calendar descriptions.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Open the Calendar’s Advanced Settings
Go to Dashboard → Manage Calendars, open the calendar you want to edit, and select Advanced Settings.
Scroll to the SEO & Social Sharing card.

Step 2: Write the Meta Title
The Meta Title is used as the main title in the browser tab, search result, and social link preview.
The maximum length is 60 characters. A character counter below the field shows how much space you have left.
If you leave the Meta Title blank, the booking page falls back to the calendar title and username.
Example:
Discovery Call | jane
Step 3: Write the Meta Description
The Meta Description is the summary text displayed below the title in search results and link preview cards.
The maximum length is 160 characters. A character counter is displayed under the field.
If you leave the Meta Description blank, Timetics uses the calendar description with its HTML formatting removed.
If the calendar description contains no usable text, the fallback becomes:
Book {calendar title} with {username}
Step 4: Upload a Social Preview Image
Click the image upload area and choose the image you want platforms to use when the booking page is shared.
| Requirement | Value |
|---|---|
| Recommended size | 1200 × 630 pixels |
| Recommended ratio | 1.91:1 |
| Supported formats | PNG, JPG, WebP |
| Maximum file size | 500 KB |
Files larger than 500 KB are rejected with an error message before the upload completes.
After an image has been uploaded, you can hover over the image to replace it or use the delete button to remove it. Removing the image requires confirmation.
Step 5: Check the Preview
The SEO & Social Sharing card includes a live preview showing how your booking link may appear when shared.
The preview includes:
- Your Meta Title
- The actual public booking page URL
- Your Meta Description
- Your Social Preview Image, when one is set
The description is limited to two lines in the preview. The preview updates as you type, making it easier to spot titles or descriptions that may be truncated.
Step 6: Finish Your Changes
The SEO fields save when you leave the field, so there is no separate Save button on this card.
Key Functionality
Where These Values Are Used
When a booking page is rendered, Timetics builds the page metadata using your SEO settings and fallback values.
| Metadata | Value Used |
|---|---|
| Page Title | Your Meta Title, or the calendar title plus username, with the workspace brand title appended. |
| Description | Your Meta Description, or the calendar description with HTML removed, or the fallback booking message. |
| Open Graph | Title, description, website type, and Social Preview Image when available. |
| Twitter Card | summary_large_image with the same title, description, and image. |
| Favicon | The workspace favicon configured under White Labelling, when available. |
The Brand Title
The workspace brand title configured under White Labelling is appended to the booking page title.
If no custom brand title is set, the default is Timetics.
HTML Is Removed from Descriptions
HTML formatting is removed from descriptions before the text is stored or rendered inside page metadata.
This prevents formatting from the rich text calendar description from appearing inside search engine or social metadata.
Your Profile Page Uses Separate Metadata
Your public profile page at /{username} does not use the per-calendar SEO fields.
Instead, its preview is built from your workspace name, workspace description, and profile logo.
To update those values, go to Settings → Profile.
Prerequisites
- Permission to update calendars.
- A published calendar that is publicly reachable.
Private calendars are not intended to be crawled by search engines or previewed publicly.
Validation Rules
- The Meta Title is limited to 60 characters.
- The Meta Description is limited to 160 characters.
- The Social Preview Image must be PNG, JPG, or WebP.
- The Social Preview Image must be smaller than or equal to 500 KB.
- HTML is removed from metadata descriptions.
- Leaving a Meta Title or Meta Description empty activates the corresponding fallback automatically.
Limitations
- Social platforms cache shared-link previews, so changing the title, description, or image may not update previously shared previews immediately.
- The admin preview is an approximation. Individual platforms may crop images and truncate text differently.
- Removing the Social Preview Image leaves the booking page without a social image. It does not automatically fall back to your workspace logo.
- SEO & Social Sharing settings are stored separately for every calendar.
- If you manage many calendars, you need to configure each one individually or rely on the fallback title and description.
Image Recommendations
- Use 1200 × 630 pixels when possible.
- Keep important text and subjects away from the edges because different platforms crop images differently.
- For photographic images, use a compressed JPG or WebP to stay under the 500 KB upload limit.
- PNG may create larger files and can be harder to keep under the maximum size for photo-based graphics.
Social Preview Caching
Platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn may continue showing an older preview after you update your metadata.
If you need an updated preview immediately, use the platform’s own link inspection or debugging tool to request a fresh version of the booking page.
Notes
- The 60-character Meta Title limit and 160-character Meta Description limit are enforced by the fields rather than being recommendations only.
- The character limits roughly match common search result display lengths, but different search engines may still truncate text differently.
- The Social Preview Image is deleted when you remove it from the calendar.
- The Social Preview Image does not fall back to the workspace logo after deletion.
- Each calendar stores its own SEO and social metadata independently.
- Well-written calendar titles and descriptions provide better fallback metadata when the custom fields are left empty.
