What is the Appearance Settings Page?
The Appearance Settings page controls the workspace-wide look and feel of Timetics AI. From Settings → Appearance, you can manage your dashboard theme, brand image, brand colour, profile cover image, Timetics branding, and the default booking layout.
These settings act as workspace-wide defaults. Individual calendars can override the booking layout, while the Page Builder can apply a custom theme to a specific page.
Why Do You Need It?
- Build a consistent brand: Add your logo and brand colour across your public booking experience.
- Improve your public profile: Add a cover image to give your profile page a professional header.
- Control your dashboard experience: Choose Light, Dark, or System mode.
- Set a booking default: Choose whether booking pages open in Month, Week, or Day view.
- Remove Timetics branding: Eligible plans can create a more fully branded scheduling experience.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Open the Appearance Page
Click the gear icon in the left rail, then select Appearance.
You can also go directly to /settings/appearance.
Step 2: Choose a Theme
Select the theme you want to use for your Timetics AI dashboard.
| Theme | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Light | Uses the light dashboard appearance |
| Dark | Uses the dark dashboard appearance |
| System | Matches your device’s current appearance setting |
Note: This setting only changes your dashboard. It does not change the appearance of public booking pages for guests.
Step 3: Upload Your Brand / Profile Image
Upload your logo or profile image to represent your workspace.
| Requirement | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Recommended size | 64 × 64 pixels |
| Supported formats | JPG, GIF, PNG |
| Maximum file size | 500 KB |
The image appears on your booking pages, in the public profile header, and as the image used by your profile page’s social preview card.
The upload is applied immediately, so there is no separate save action.
Step 4: Hide Timetics Branding
Use Hide Timetics Branding when you want to remove Timetics branding from your scheduling pages, notifications, and confirmations.
This option requires a plan that includes Custom Branding. If your current plan does not include it, the option displays a lock with an upgrade prompt.
Step 5: Pick a Brand Colour
Choose your primary brand colour from the available palette of 13 colour swatches.
Your selected colour is used across public pages for elements such as:
- Buttons
- Selected dates
- Links
- Highlights
Clicking a colour saves it immediately and displays a confirmation toast.
The brand colour is injected into public pages as a CSS variable when the page renders, preventing guests from seeing a flash of the previous colour while the page loads.
Step 6: Upload a Cover Image
The Cover Image appears across the top of your public profile page.
| Requirement | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Recommended size | 1920 × 260 pixels |
| Supported formats | JPG, GIF, PNG |
| Maximum file size | 500 KB |
Deleting an existing cover image opens a confirmation dialog before the image is removed.
Step 7: Set the Default Booking Layout
Choose how booking pages should open by default.
| Layout | Best Suited For |
|---|---|
| Month | Browsing available dates across a full month |
| Week | Viewing availability across a shorter weekly range |
| Day | Focusing on available times for a particular day |
The layout used on a public booking page follows this order:
- The individual calendar’s booking layout
- The workspace default configured here
- Month view as the final fallback
The selected layout is only the starting view. Guests can still switch between Month, Week, and Day on the public booking page.
Key Functionality
Changes Save Automatically
Controls on the Appearance page save when they are changed. There is no separate Save button.
Each change also triggers revalidation of your public profile so the updated appearance can be visible on the next refresh.
Brand Colour Is Workspace-Wide
Brand colour is a workspace-wide setting. You can also access the colour control from a calendar’s Appearance Setup tab, but changing it there updates the same workspace setting.
This means changing the brand colour from one calendar affects the workspace rather than only that calendar.
Booking Layout Can Be Overridden Per Calendar
Unlike brand colour, the booking layout available on a calendar’s Appearance Setup tab is genuinely calendar-specific.
A calendar-specific layout takes priority over the workspace default configured on this page.
Uploads Have a 500 KB Limit
Appearance uploads are limited to 500 KB. The size limit is checked before the file leaves your browser.
Permissions Control Editing
Without the settings.update permission, the Appearance controls are disabled. This includes uploaders, the colour palette, branding switch, and booking layout selector.
How Does Appearance Work with the Page Builder?
The Appearance page provides the workspace’s general visual defaults, while the Page Builder gives you deeper page-level customization.
If a page has a published Page Builder theme, that theme controls the page palette and takes precedence over the standard brand colour configured under Appearance.
| Use | Recommended Option |
|---|---|
| One consistent accent colour across your workspace | Settings → Appearance |
| Different booking layout for a calendar | Calendar → Appearance Setup |
| Full custom palette or page-specific visual design | Page Builder |
Prerequisites
- The
settings.readpermission to view the Appearance page - The
settings.updatepermission to change Appearance settings - A plan that includes Custom Branding to hide Timetics branding
Important Notes
- Theme only affects your dashboard. Light, Dark, or System mode does not force the same appearance on guests.
- Brand colour is workspace-wide. Changing it from a calendar’s Appearance Setup tab still changes the workspace setting.
- Use the Page Builder for different calendar colours. A per-calendar published theme can provide a genuinely different visual palette.
- The cover image belongs to the public profile. It appears on
/{username}, not on individual calendar booking pages. - Individual calendars use feature media. Their feature image or video is configured from the calendar’s Appearance Setup tab.
- Booking Layout is only the initial view. Guests can still switch between Month, Week, and Day.
- Keep uploads below 500 KB. For large cover images, compression can help keep the file within the upload limit.
- White Labelling is separate. Hiding Timetics branding removes Timetics branding from scheduling pages, notifications, and confirmations. Brand title and favicon settings are managed separately under White Labelling.
