What are Social Media Icons and Links?
Social Media Icons and Links let you connect your workspace profile with your social platforms. Each social link contains a platform and its URL, which appears as a clickable icon on your public booking pages.
Guests can use these icons to visit your Facebook page, LinkedIn profile, YouTube channel, Instagram profile, WhatsApp, Telegram, or X account directly from your booking page.
You can manage these links from Settings → Profile.
Why Do You Need It?
- Build trust: Give potential customers an easy way to explore your social presence before booking.
- Keep everything connected: Turn your booking page into a small hub for your online profiles.
- Make communication easier: WhatsApp and Telegram can give guests a quick way to contact you before booking.
- Avoid clutter: Show recognizable social icons instead of placing multiple long URLs inside your profile description.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Open Settings → Profile
Click the gear icon in the left rail, or go to /settings/profile.
Scroll down until you find the Social Media card.
Step 2: Click Add Social Links
Click Add Social Links at the bottom of the Social Media card. Each click adds a new empty social link row.
Step 3: Choose a Platform
Open the platform dropdown and select the social network you want to add.
| Supported Platform | Use For |
|---|---|
| Facebook page or profile | |
| WhatsApp contact link | |
| LinkedIn profile or company page | |
| X | X profile |
| YouTube | YouTube channel |
| Instagram profile | |
| Telegram | Telegram profile or channel |
Each supported platform has its own icon, which is displayed automatically on your public pages.
Step 4: Enter the Full URL
Enter the complete URL for the selected platform, including https://.
For example, a Facebook link should follow the format https://facebook.com/yourprofile rather than only facebook.com/yourprofile.
For WhatsApp, use the format https://wa.me/<number>. For Telegram, use https://t.me/<handle>.
The URL is validated when you save. An address without a valid URL scheme is rejected.
Step 5: Add More or Remove Links
Click Add Social Links again whenever you want to add another platform.
To remove an existing row, click the X button at the end of that row.
Step 6: Save Your Changes
Click Save changes at the bottom of the Profile page.
Social links are part of the complete workspace Profile form, so adding or removing a row is not permanently stored until you save the profile.
After a successful save, your public profile is revalidated and the updated social icons can appear on the next refresh.
Where Do the Social Icons Appear?
Your social icons appear on your public pages alongside your profile information, including your name and designation.
Each platform is displayed using its own icon at approximately 20 × 20 pixels.
When a guest clicks an icon, the social link opens in a new browser tab. External links use noopener noreferrer for safer navigation.
If you have no social links configured, the complete social icon row is hidden instead of leaving an empty space on the page.
If a stored platform does not match one of the seven supported platforms, it is skipped instead of displaying a broken icon.
Key Functionality
Social Links Belong to the Workspace
Social links are stored on your workspace profile, not on individual calendars and not on your personal account.
This means one set of social links can be used across your public profile and booking pages.
Icons Are Selected Automatically
The platform you select determines which icon appears. You do not need to upload an icon yourself.
Custom icons and unsupported social platforms cannot be added through the Social Media card.
Social Links Are Available to Public Pages
Your saved social links are included in the public workspace profile data, allowing public profile pages and pages created with the page builder to access them.
Prerequisites
- You need the
settings.updatepermission to add, edit, or remove social links. - Each social link needs a supported platform.
- Each entry needs a complete and valid URL, including the URL scheme such as
https://.
Without the required settings permission, the platform selector and URL field are read only, while the Add and Remove controls are disabled.
Validation Rules
- The platform must be one of the seven supported platforms.
- The URL must be a valid full URL.
- Both the platform and URL are required for each social link row.
- An empty row can cause validation to fail when saving.
- There is no duplicate-platform validation.
Limitations
- Only seven platforms are supported: Facebook, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Instagram, and Telegram.
- Custom icons are not supported. The selected platform automatically determines the icon.
- Duplicate links are allowed. Adding Instagram twice results in two Instagram icons.
- There is no drag-and-drop reordering. Icons appear in the same order as their rows.
- Blank rows cannot be saved. Remove any unused rows before pressing Save changes.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Social icons do not appear | Confirm that you pressed Save changes, then refresh the public page. |
| A URL is rejected | Enter the complete URL including https://. |
| Profile will not save after adding a social row | Check for an empty row or a row missing either its platform or URL. |
| Add and Remove buttons are disabled | Your role may not have the settings.update permission. |
| The same icon appears twice | Duplicate platforms are allowed. Remove the duplicate row manually. |
| Icons appear in the wrong order | There is no reordering control. Remove the link and add it again in the position you want. |
| Saved icons are not visible immediately | Public pages may retain cached data for a short period. Refresh the page again. |
Notes
- Deleting a social link row only becomes permanent after you press Save changes.
- Removed links can be added again later by selecting the platform and entering the URL again.
- Social icons render in the order their rows appear in the Profile form.
- If you need to link to an unsupported platform, add the URL to your profile description or use a link block in the page builder.
- Changes to social links may take a short time to appear on cached public pages.
